1. Description
Refined Paraffin Wax is one of the most basic raw materials for candle making. However, it offers good burning efficiency and flame stability suitable for candle production. The wax is solid, insoluble in water but soluble in various solvents. The finished product is slightly opaque, and when melted, it becomes clear and easy to color. It has a melting point ranging from 45 to 56°C. Therefore, it requires frequent temperature adjustment and skilled craftsmanship to shape the final product properly. Even slight temperature changes can deform the wax. Refined Paraffin Wax is considered one of the most versatile types of wax.
Advantages
Widely used for making common candles and easy to source.
Clear when melted, making color mixing easy and accurate.
Broad applications beyond candle making, including medicine and cosmetics.
Usually more affordable compared to natural waxes.
2. Applications
Candle manufacturing.
Medical and physical therapy uses.
Cosmetics (waxing, exfoliation).
Protective coatings for specialized parchment paper.
Notes
When pouring candles, the wax sticks strongly to molds; it is recommended mainly for container candles.
Be aware of surface cracking; stirring is needed to remove air bubbles and avoid surface pits.
