1. Description
White Beeswax is harvested from the outer edges of the honeycomb, where the hexagonal cells are built but have not yet stored honey. Worker bees extract substances from plants and transform them into a nutrient-rich, pliable wax. When exposed to air, the wax solidifies, forming a sturdy honeycomb structure. White Beeswax has an opaque white color, a light honey scent, a melting point of 70°C, and an oil absorption rate of 15%.
Advantages
- Light, pleasant scent; safe for health.
- Requires minimal additive processing; ideal for candle art applications.
- Harder than most other wax types, allowing for better shape retention.
- Naturally smooth surface finish.
- Higher burning temperature and duration — up to 3 times longer than other waxes.
- Releases negative ions that help balance and purify the air.
2. Application & Production Process
Widely used in:
- Cosmetics and fragrance creation.
- Sealing food or artistic envelopes.
- Especially prominent in artistic candle making (sculpted candles, pillar candles, model candles).
Notes
- When pouring candles, the wax tends to stick to molds, so it’s recommended for use in cup candles.
- Pay attention to surface tension and potential cracking; stir well to eliminate air bubbles and prevent pitted candle surfaces.
